Documenting the mundane - part 2

I particularly like those videos of which there are lots around where not much happens but we are treated to some lovely depth of colours, angles, perspectives and a frame-able beauty. These videos are typically city portraits, usually time-lapse based and always accompanied by some luscious, evolving, organic score.

While the above video might not match much or any of these points, I liked the idea of taking something out of context through documenting it and recontextualising it as something with so little distractions that it can only be lovely.

These video clips were all collected in the style of fauxtography (taking a video when someone thinks you are taking a photo) and so of course have a natural element to them. Although I chose to keep the information of how the video came about (through it's title, we were taking pictures of clothes to sell on ebay), it feels like it is sufficiently colourful to watch aesthetically, laughing with Jody when she laughs in the video.

This was my first go at incorporating a flash animation into a video via some chroma keying, as inspired by lots of great videos on vimeo. You can see if you can spot the bubbles!
